Imber's Ford Powerstar Series 40 Tractors Re-Visited! £5 off and a new Competition!

Brushwood re-visit the great range of Ford PowerStar Series 40 Tractors from Imber Models. We take a close look at all 11 models comprising of 6640/5640 SL and SLE versions in both 2WD and 4WD, including the Industrial Yellow tractors and an impressive Ford 8970.

The Ford 40-Series were released in October 1991 and were the last range to bare the Ford name and introduced a brand new appearance, engines, transmission and cab that received a popular response from farmers looking for a combination of productivity, dependability and ease of operation. The series offered six power sizes ranging from 75hp (5640), 85hp (6640) right up to 120hp (8240).

The SL versions featured a new three-range four speed Synchro Shift 12 x 12 gearbox and the SLE featured the 16F/16R Electronic transmission which used a two position gear leaver to control two groups of four powershift rations grouped in high and low ranges, a concept that is still used today in modern tractors.

Imbers attention to detail in their models is superb with opening doors, back windows and bonnets and each 5640/6640 comes with a removable front linkage, A-frame and two sizes front weights. The design of the rear hitch and hydraulic arms also make the tractor compatible with a wide variety of implements.  Detailed photos of all 11 models can be seen on our dedicated Imber webpage HERE!.
