A dedicated Brushwood Toys fan!

Llywelyn’s Farm.

If you have been dropping in on our popular 'Customers Gallery' over the years, you may have come across recent contributions from a young lad called Llywelyn.  Llywelyn is 7 years old and has been sending us photos for a little while now, displaying great enthusiasm for his layout!

He's been farming his Brushwood Toys layout seriously for about 4 years, and it is a layout that would be the envy of all full-scale farmers!!

Llywelyn has named his farm 'Plasauduon Bach', which is a variation on the name of a family farm, and very authentically you enter the sign posted farm over a cattle grid created by himself and his Dad!

Llywelyn's Dad Martin says, "The success of this layout would not have been possible without the support of Brushwood Toys. The farm is a permanent feature in Llywelyns bedroom, taking up the whole floor space, often encroaching onto the landing!!"

This very extensive farm includes a Lambing Shed (BT7000), Sheep Handling Unit (BT8750), 3 cow sheds for suckler cows and dairy cows (BT3000/4000 & BBB130), a Bull Pen (BT8900) and a Farm Workshop (BT8200). All the relevant animals are also included, with Dorset and Texel sheep and rams, along with cows, a Charolais bull and 2 sheep dogs. Chickens appear from time to time too!

Llywelyn's farm machinery includes seven Massey Fergusons along with his Dad's classic David Brown, one of five Land Rovers (this one with a trailer), a quad bike and a Range Rover. One quad is currently under repair in the Farm Workshop, which is authentically equipped with spanners, drills and hammers!

It is clear that Llywelyn pays great attention to detail as all the activities on Plasauduon Bach mirror those on the real farm, with lambing, shearing, harvesting and all sheep handling including tupping being covered at the appropriate time of year, even to the extent of correct livestock marking - very creatively zip ties are being used for dairy cow collars!

It is a pleasure to see such commitment and enthusiasm for farming from a youngster, through the medium of farm modelling.  Brushwood Toys are thrilled to be a part of a young person's efforts to re-create a true to life farming layout, with Brushwood's MD & owner Paul Headon saying, "This exactly what I had in mind when I created the Brushwood Toys range of authentic toy farm buildings 30 years ago!  We have worked hard over those years to produce toys that inspire young people to explore farming and create their own layouts - and now we are able to share them with others through our Customer Layouts page!"

You can see Lywelyn's farm layout on the Customer Layouts page HERE, along with many any other collections and dioramas from young and old alike!
